Julia (13) is preparing for the upcoming Spring Break 2013 Washington D.C. trip her Middle School takes once a year. The out of pocket expense is well over $3,000.00! We discussed needs for a business proposal on how she is going to come up with the money. She came up with some really good ideas.
How a Teenager can make money for a trip
- Babysitting
- Cleaning house
- Pet walker
- Learn to braid hair and charge your friends.
- Yards sale (my favorite)
- Lemonade stand at the yardsale
- Bake sale
- Make a craft to sell
- Save Birthday money
- Design a book on "How a Teenager can make money for a trip"

She could clean family or friend's houses. Sell some things she doesn't use in a garage sale. There are stores like "Plato's" or gently used consignment shops that will buy clothes and she can make some extra cash.
Maybe she could set up a mini bake sale at church, or a library and set up a table to sell her treats? Whatever she makes would have to be cheap though of there would be no profit!
$3000 is doable if she works hard!! :)
